Tailgating Recipe of the Week

This weeks tailgate recipe comes from Alans Kitchen

Baja Shrimp In Beer
Makes 4 servings

Ingredients:
2 - pounds fresh shrimp in the shell
3 - cups beer
1 - clove garlic, chopped
1 - teaspoon salt
1/2 - teaspoon thyme
1 - teaspoon celery seed
1 - tablespoon parsley, minced
2 - dashes Tabasco sauce
2 - teaspoon lemon juice
Butter Sauce
1/4 - cup butter, melted
1/8 - cup Salsa Verde

Directions:

In a kettle at moderate heat, add the shrimp, beer, garlic, salt, thyme, celery seed, parsley, Tabasco sauce, and lemon juice. Mix and bring to a boil. After coming to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 4 minutes or until shrimp are pink. Mix butter and salsa. Drain shrimp and serve with butter sauce on the side.

Picnicking & Tailgating:

There are two ways for this recipe. 1) Heat kettle on the grill and cook normal method. 2) Prepare just before leaving the home and place hot shrimp in thermal container. The butter sauce can be prepared ahead and kept warm until ready to eat.

Would this work with hard liquor?

Yes. In the past, we have replaced the beer with an equal number of shots of whatever you prefer.
Just watch the flavoring in the liquor, it may show up in the taste of your food.
Lets us know how it turns out!
